Who We Are

This policy covers my BookBub author page https://c-m-soliz.author-pages.com , my website at www.cmsoliz.com, and the newsletter, giveaway, and contact sign-ups linked from them. All are run by the author writing as C. M. Soliz ("I," "me," or "my"). This policy explains what information I collect when you visit my pages, follow a sign-up link, or join my reader newsletter, how I use it, and the choices you have.

By using this site or subscribing, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not submit your information.

Information I Collect

Information you give me. When you sign up for my newsletter, enter a giveaway, request an advance reader copy, or use the contact form, I collect what you choose to provide. This usually means your email address and first name. A contact message may also include your last name and anything you write to me.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site and its hosting service may record basic technical data when you visit. This can include your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.

Cookies. The site may use cookies and similar tools to keep it working properly, remember your preferences, and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work as intended without them.

Newsletter engagement. My email service may track whether a newsletter was delivered, opened, or clicked. This helps me send content readers actually want and remove inactive addresses.

How I Use Your Information

  • Deliver any free book, sample, or reader magnet you requested

What I never do. I do not sell, rent, or trade your email address or personal information. I do not share your email with other authors or promotional lists. I will only email you if you signed up or contacted me first.

Third-Party Services

I rely on a few trusted services to run this site and newsletter. They process your information only to provide their service to me, under their own privacy policies.

Gmail | Stores the subscriber list and sends the newsletter |

Outside links. The site links to retailers and platforms such as Amazon, BookBub, Goodreads, and social media. Once you leave this site, that platform's privacy policy applies, not this one. Following me on BookBub or buying through Amazon is handled entirely by those companies.

Unsubscribing

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you will be removed right away. You can also email me and I will remove you by hand.

How Long I Keep Your Information

I keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your address is removed from active mailing, though my email provider may keep a record so you are not added again by mistake. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to reply or follow up.

Security

I use reputable services with standard security protections such as encrypted connections. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information I hold about you
  • Ask me to correct or delete it
  • Withdraw your consent to receive emails at any time
  • Object to or limit how your information is used

Readers in the EU and UK (GDPR). I collect your email based on your consent when you subscribe. You may withdraw that consent at any time. You also have the right to file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Readers in California and other US states. I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA and similar state laws. You may request access to or deletion of your information at any time.

Children's Privacy

This site and my books are intended for adult readers. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EU and UK). If you believe a child has subscribed, contact me and I will delete the information.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
