Agreement to These Terms

These terms apply to my BookBub author page, my website at www.cmsoliz.com, and any newsletter, giveaway, or download page linked from them. They are offered by the author writing as C. M. Soliz ("I," "me," or "my").

By visiting these pages, subscribing, or entering a giveaway, you agree to these terms and to my Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

BookBub's own Terms of Service also apply whenever you use the BookBub platform. If my terms and BookBub's ever conflict on its platform, BookBub's terms control.

Intellectual Property

All content I publish, including my books, excerpts, sample chapters, bonus scenes, cover art, character names, blog posts, newsletters, and graphics, is protected by copyright and belongs to me or my licensors. This includes The Angel of Death, The Crimson Doorway, Shadow on the Overpass, and all future titles.

You may read, share links to, and quote brief passages for reviews or commentary with credit to C. M. Soliz. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, translate, adapt, or upload my work or any part of it without my written permission. That includes posting it on piracy sites, file-sharing services, or using it to train artificial intelligence systems.

The pen name C. M. Soliz, book titles, series names, and associated logos may not be used in a way that suggests I endorse or am affiliated with you.

Newsletter, Free Books, and Advance Copies

Joining my newsletter is free and optional. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Free books, samples, and bonus content are for your personal reading only. Please do not share the download files or links with others.

Advance reader copies (ARCs) are provided in good faith for honest review. Receiving one does not require a positive review. ARCs may not be shared, sold, or posted online. Reviewers must follow the review rules of the platform where they post, including any required disclosure that they received a free copy.

Giveaways and Contests

Each giveaway will post its own rules, including eligibility, entry period, prize, and how the winner is chosen. Those rules apply alongside these terms. Unless a giveaway says otherwise:

  • No purchase is necessary to enter or win
  • Entrants must be 18 or older and meet any location limits stated in the rules
  • Void where prohibited by law
  • Winners are chosen at random and contacted by email
  • A winner who does not respond within 7 days may forfeit the prize, and a new winner may be drawn
  • Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash
  • I may cancel or change a giveaway if fraud, technical problems, or other issues affect its fairness

Giveaways are not sponsored, endorsed, or run by BookBub, Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, or any other platform.

Purchases and Third-Party Platforms

I do not sell books directly through these pages. All purchases happen through retailers such as Amazon, and BookBub deal alerts link to those retailers. Prices, availability, payments, refunds, delivery, and Kindle Unlimited access are handled entirely by the retailer under its own terms.

Prices shown in newsletters or deal announcements were accurate when sent but may change without notice. I am not responsible for a retailer's pricing errors or for content on any outside site I link to.

Reader Conduct

When you contact me, comment on my posts, or take part in reader events, please do not:

  • Post or send anything harassing, threatening, hateful, or unlawful
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Send spam, advertising, or malicious links or files
  • Enter a giveaway more times than its rules allow, or use fake accounts or automated entries

I may remove comments, block contact, unsubscribe an address, or disqualify a giveaway entry that breaks these rules.

If you send me ideas, story suggestions, or other unsolicited creative material, you agree that I have no obligation to use it, keep it confidential, or pay you for it. I may already be developing similar ideas.

Content Notice

My books are psychological thrillers written for adult readers. They may include violence, crime, death, and other mature or disturbing themes. Excerpts and promotional material may contain the same.

Disclaimers

These pages and everything on them are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. I do my best to keep information accurate and links working, but I cannot promise the pages will always be available, error-free, or free of viruses.

My books are works of fiction. Names, characters, places, and events are products of the author's imagination or used fictionally. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is coincidental.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of these pages, my newsletter, downloads, or giveaways. If I am found liable for anything, my total liability will not exceed the value of any prize you won or $50, whichever is greater.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Bexar, Texas.

Changes to These Terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use these pages after a change means you accept the updated terms.
